Last week on the news we brought you the story of Private Cory Martells a soldier and member of the BDF band who had his femur broken, among other injuries, in the road accident that happened on August 18th. Private Martells along with his colleagues were returning from the funeral of Private Micah Moguel when the van they were travelling collided with another vehicle at high speed.
Martell's recovery has been slow, but it was slower still because his doctors could not go ahead with a much-needed surgery until they'd obtained double the necessary blood bags.
That left Martells and his family desperate for help and forced to reach out via social media and this channel to request the "AB negative" blood that he needed.
Tonight, the good news is that he got the life-saving supplies and was able to have his surgery. Now, he's thanking all of the doctors, blood donors, family members, friends and community who made a successful surgery possible.
