And while that industrial relations fire has been put out for the time being, the KHMH is still going through changes at its governance level. 7News has confirmed what has been rumored for the past weeks: Dr. Andre Sosa has been removed as Chairman of the KHMH Board of Directors. Initial reports were that he was asked to do so - but we have since confirmed that he and the board were simply informed via an email from the Minister that he was was changing the Chairman.
Reports are that Dr Sosa could not get along with Health Minister Kevin Bernard and Health CEO Dr Julio Sabido. CEO Sabido also happens to be on the board. That, and the ongoing difficulties with the acquisition of a CAT Scan machine seem to have soured relations between those parties. Their differences, we're told, were substantial.
Board member Arun Hotchandani has been named interim chairman for the next 11 days until a new Chairman is selected. Sources tell us that newly named board member and career banker Martin Marshalleck will get the nod.
