A BDF soldier who was wanted by police last night was found dead this morning in Hopkins Village. 32-year-old Adrian Flores' body was found by a woman and her common law husband who were walking past a tree. It was apparent that Flores had taken his own life, but he was also seen with injuries on his chest and his hand. That's because less than 12 hours before his body was discovered, Flores' ex-girlfriend reported that she was at home when he crawled from under her bed and stabbed her multiple times, even injuring their 8-year-old child. Her screaming alerted her brother, who rushed over to help, and Flores ran out the door. According to the woman, she and Flores broke up about 3 weeks ago, and he was supposed to retrieve his belongings today while she was not at home.

But instead of doing that, Flores took his own life, making him the third victim of suicide in the south in the past month. In late August we told you that 33-year-old Derrick Dionicio also took his life after he was detained by police for getting into a physical alteration with his partner. And reports are that another suicide was reported in Seine Bight on August 26th.

And only a day before World Suicide Prevention Day, Flores isn't the only victim. Another man, this one 64-years-old, also took his life, and his body was discovered by his 39-year-old son.

Later in the news, we'll have more on suicide prevention day, and the police department's first psychiatrist.

But in the meanwhile If you or anyone you know is suffering from suicidal thoughts please reach out to Ingrid Bonilla from the Ministry of Health and Wellness at 614-2908.
