BDF Team Flips On Highway

Four BDF soldiers are currently recovering at the Western Regional Hospital after their pickup truck flipped between miles 34 and 35 on the George Price Highway. 35-year-old Nigel Rivas, 29-year-old Jamie Castellon, 24-year-old Oscar Barahona, and 32-year-old Bruce Graham were all a part of the BDF's La Ruta Maya support team.

According to reports, around 3:00 the driver lost control, causing the truck to overturn, and all four of the soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries. While it is unclear whether the men were wearing seatbelts, the BDF does mandate them to do so.

In terms of their La Ruta Maya paddlers, they will still be participating in the race.
