Is Belize Wooing China?

In Belize’s presnt diplomatic situation, playing footsie with mainland China is the “not done thing,” But try telling that to Free Zone czar Florencio Marin Sr. According to an official government release, he has just returned from China where he was part of a 37 member delegation that visited major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The release says the purpose of the visit by the trade mission was to establish working relations between developers in China and their counterparts over here in Latin America. The trade mission had participation from zone officials, investors, and free zone developers from Belize and 5 other Latin American Countries.
