The CARICOM Single Market and Economy was formally launched today in ceremonies held in Kingston Jamaica. Heads of government, or their representatives, from 10 CARICOM countries were there. Belize was represented by Minister Jose Coye. 6 countries, Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago entered the single market on January first, while four others still have to pass enabling legislation and will enter on January 31st.
