If you've driven on the Northern Highway over the past few days, in fact even before the rains came down you'd know that the stretch of highway from the second roundabout all the way to the Haulover Bridge has been in dire need of attention. It seems that the attention will finally come. The ministry of Works today announced that that stretch between miles 2 and a half an the bridge will be rehabilitated starting tomorrow. The Ministry says it will address problems resulting from flooding.

It is noteworthy that very little has been done in the past to address the problem on the stretch of highway to truly address the problem other than patching holes on the highway every time they develop. It is to be seen if this latest move will indeed address the problem of the highway once and for all.
