In other news, the Guatemalan side of the Western Border was shut down this morning when the town of Melchor as well as the truckers passing through went on a strike. Their issue was a rise in the cost of fuel in Guatemala – which went to about $10.25 a gallon. After some negotiation, it was brought back down to ten dollars a gallon – and the strike ended, the border on the Guatemalan side was re-opened. The Belize border remained opened throughout.
