As awe told you a few days ago, there is a new Guatemalan Ambassador to Belize, Erwin Rudy Archila Falla, and today, he presented his credentials to Ambassador Stuart Leslie, the Cabinet Secretary who is deputizing for Governor-General Sir Colville Young.
During a brief meeting at the Belize House in Belmopan, the Governor-General welcomed Ambassador Archila Falla to Belize. A release says both Ambassadors expressed their hopes for greater cooperation between the two neighboring countries, as well as their desire to see the Guatemalan claim to Belize's territory resolved at the International Court of Justice.
Her Excellency Marianne Van Steen, the Ambassador of the European Union to Belize, also presented her credentials to the acting GG, but she did so virtually.
