Last month, we told you how former PUP political candidate, Dr. Candice Pitts had been named as the designated Ambassador of Belize to Taiwan. Well, tonight she is now Belize's official Ambassador to Taiwan.
Today, she presented a copy of her letter of credence to Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Wu. A release says Ambassador Pitts and the Taiwanese Foreign Minister used the occasion to exchange opinions on a wide range of issues of mutual concern.
It's a major upgrade for Pitts, who was elected to the Belize City Council in 2018. It's unclear whether she will return to electoral politics, but it would be unlikely.
