And in other news, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees regional representative, based in Panama, visited Belize today to, of course, commend the government on its amnesty program, which keeps being extended. That's good news for the UNHCR which has committed to providing as much support as possible to reintegrate the refugees into society.

And this morning, the press had an opportunity to interview Candler, where she explained why it is important for Belize to open its doors to asylum seekers.

And the Head of Office for UNHCR Belize explained the organization's main priorities in the country at this time.
