He's now been missing for 6 days and the search for Sgt. Ramon Aguilar has intensified. Today Lt. Col. Reuel Black explained that today members of the Caves Branch Rescue Team joined the efforts taking along with them tracking dogs to help find Aguilar.

Lt. Col. Reuel Black, BDF Chief of Staff
"The only update I have is the additional reinforcement that went in today. We have a fractured company that went out yesterday and today we were joined by the Caves Branch Adventure Training search and rescue team which were accompanied by their tracker dogs.

Being trained as he is, I would like to think that he is following his training now. he is on survival and trying to find his way out, personally find his way out. He is not depending on us finding him, although we know we are searching for him because once he is in Belize and he is hearing the planes going over, so he knows we are still searching for him. But he does not know where we are so he cannot link up with us.

From that area he could decide to walk east and that would bring him on the Southern Highway or north which would bring him on the Western Highway. Those two directions are very easy to follow because in the morning you will see the sun come up and he can follow that and when the sun is up, in whatever direction, either easy or west, you can still find north because then the east and west will be to your left and your right. So you can travel north for the whole day whilst in the morning you can only travel east during the morning for a few hours because the sun goes south as it traverse across the sky."

Alfonso Noble,
_Have you all been contemplating the fact that this man may be actually down and out and not necessarily moving to any one direction?

Lt. Col. Reuel Black,
"Well that could be a good thing that he is not moving because if you don't move then we can gain ground closer to you. If you move at the same pace that we are moving, then we will not get to you because you are moving."

Aguilar was in the Las Cuevas Area on a jungle warfare instructor's course when on Thursday, not Wednesday as the BDF had originally reported, of last week he dropped his map and decided to turn back and look for it at the end of an exercise. He's not been seen since. Previous to this, 5 days was the longest time for which a soldier had been missing.
