Keeping it in the Stann Creek District, long lines were seen streaming from the Dangriga Town Council today where hundreds queued up and they all had one thing in common land problems.

The Ministry of Natural Resources today launched their Mobile Land Outreach program, and Minister Cordel Hyde was there to meet and listen to the challenges of those who have a land dispute and those who have a hard time getting a plot to call their own.

Hyde probably didn't anticipate the crowds of people that waited in the hot sun from early in the morning - but a member of his team acknowledged that the "underserved southern people came out in droves."

Still, people in droves usually drive up pandemic numbers, and there were plenty of concerns raised on social media that the crowds would cause a mass spread of COVID-19.

But, COVID concerns or not, the crowds could not be deterred, and the Mobile team didn't close down until just after 6:00 this evening, after processing 175 persons.
