In our first segment, you saw Prime Minister Briceno doing some light skirmishing with the teachers union - but the real reason had had a press briefing was to discuss the national tour he's been conducting of storm damaged areas. The PM spent his weekend visiting communities across the storm zone - and he discussed what he saw:
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister

"Pretty much what we've been doing for the past few days, we've been more on a relief mode that we are going out there looking at the people in the different areas in the divisions and finding out what they need. I've been on the ground. You have a different perspective flying at 500 feet than when you are actually on the ground and then you can see the destruction that took place, especially in our most vulnerable areas on the southside Belize City and it breaks my heart to see what has happened to some of these people, their small homes being knock down or washed away, the amount of debris that we have to be cleaning up."
