But those crowds also had to deal with a bus terminal that's been in disrepair since the hurricane hit last November. We've been hassling the Minister of Transport to find out when, if at all, the terminal - which is used everyday by hundreds of Belizeans - will finally see the repairs it needs.

And while he's been telling us they've been ongoing for a while, we hadn't noticed much movement - until yesterday, that is. The minister took our colleagues at Krem out to the terminal to show them that, yes, it is under construction.

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport

"This was destroyed by hurricane Lisa in 2022 and the media came after me and asked when it's going to be repaired and so we started the preparation maybe over a month ago but first of all we had to get the steel prepared, so those were all cut to size and they are brought here now, they were started this morning and they almost completed all the steels. So once the steel is finished, they're going to start on the roof. So another two weeks, you can come back here and it will be in some proper shape ready to start to receive the public."
