And in infrastructure news out of Belmopan - the former PUP mayor Tony Chanona is at odds with the current PUP area rep and his mayoral candidate. It's because of an attempt to bridge adjoining streets onto George Price Boulevard.

It's the usual pre-election scramble to complete infrastructure projects - and it does seem like a practical way to enhance traffic flow. But the area rep says he's working with the city council to do it:

Oscar Mira, Area Rep, Belmopan

"This is a joint project between myself and the City Council. So if you think we don't work together Jules, that is a project where we are working together. We did that in Maya Mopan as well. They are preparing the streets for paving. They do the preparation and I do the paving. That's how we work together. Consultations happen with the residents, and I can tell you one of those that are very vocal in that area, which is the president of the NTUCB. Mr. Luke Martinez, and I spoke to him as well. If that was a good idea and he went around doing his rounds and saying, you know what, I think that we need to move Belmopan forward and that area was, was such when Belmopan was small, when there was nothing on the other side of that street, it was only bush."
