And while the Sarstoon will now have round the clock security, will the police be able to secure the polls come March 6th?
We told you that the former Port Loyola area rep has issues with the Excelsior High polling station. He says it's too close to the St John's Vianney station, which will have rival gangs passing through the same area. But today the ComPol said the police are more than prepared, but they don't expect gang violence to break out.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Certainly in terms of policing of the polling stations on Election Day is the duty of the police and we will do what we must do and what we normally do around election time to ensure that there is sufficient security in the area to allow every voter to go to the polling station and cast their vote without any impediment and so we will be in the area to make sure we do what needs to be done."
Reporter:
"But is it particularly concerning that these rival gangs may have close contact with each other?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't really think it is going to be much of an issue, like I said the police will be there to ensure that law and order is maintained throughout the polling station opening hours."
Reporter:
"Given that it's only municipals, would you bring in reinforcement from rural areas?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Certainly we do have reinforcement coming in from Belmopan in particular. We will not touch the rural areas much because our law enforcement effort still remains a priority in the rural areas so we're not going to touch the rural, we'll utilize resources from within Belize City and from Belmopan."
