At the top of the news, you saw the Transport Minister directing standees to be removed from the buses ahead of the Easter holiday weekend. Over the next few days, travelers will be moving all across the country and today Dr. Louis Zabaneh said that they are preparing for the rush with 10 buses on standby.

Dr.Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport

"Well, you know, we've been here from early this morning. Ensuring that we've had the backup busses in place and we've been able to handle the morning rush, which was quite large. We had, two extra buses to the west and one to the north, and one to the south. So that's four extra busses that we put in this morning. We expect another big rush this evening. Overall we've had, ten busses standby, and a couple of more in case. So we want to make sure that our commuters know that we are looking out for them. We've also taken care of a case in which a bus had standees, and we had to ensure that those persons exited and went onto one of the other busses that we had on standby. So commuters were not used to that. Did you just jump in? And if you have standees from back to front, they go. But no, we have to change that and that that comes with some time and with some discipline and systems in place.
