The Belize Tourism Industry Association is in a race against time in its efforts to halt the $100 million Carnival cruise terminal project which it maintains is unconstitutional even with the clarified agreement. But it seems time is not on their side as today again, Justice Samuel Awich adjourned the case to next Monday. BTIA's attorney Lois Young-Barrow plans to ask the court to grant an injunction against government from fulfilling any of its obligations under the contract including passing any necessary and accommodating legislation. But today they were told they will have to wait another week until the 13th of this month to make their application. But that might be too late since the House of Representatives meet on Friday and government will introduce the legislation at that meeting. Why the three adjournments? Well even though Justice Awich described the matter as urgent, he has another matter he is currently hearing. Today Young-Barrow wouldn't comment on what would happen if government would rush through the legislation in the House on Friday.
