The Unions are not alone in their opposition to new taxes. The membership of the Chamber of Commence has passed a resolution that there should be no new taxes. The resolution criticizes the government for not making any reasonable concession on the tax increases and criticizes it for giving an inadequate and insubstantial response. With that, the membership has granted the executive of the Chamber a broad mandate to continue to press government to reduce taxes, continuing, "a joint effort with the unions."
