He was dethroned as UDP leader in late 1982 to make way for Manuel Esquivel. After that, Theodore Aranda formed his own party, the CDP, and then joined the PUP where he had great political success in the Dangriga division. But in 2003, Aranda did not run for the PUP and has been pursuing his ambitions as the paramount chief of the World Garifuna Organization. Well now, he's back into politics, and with the UDP.

7NEWS has confirmed that Aranda attended a meeting of the UDP's Central Committee on Monday night in Belize City. Aranda is the party's southern coordinator but at this point it is not known if he will be offering himself as a hopeful for the Dangriga seat.

Also back in the UDP is National Campaign Manager Audrey Wallace. Wallace managed the UDP's 2003 general election campaign and has been on a political hiatus - returning to the party's headquarters just this week.
