On Monday, you heard ousted CEO of the Cane Farmers Association Ricardo Magana speak out against his sudden termination. Last night, you heard the man who signed his letter of termination Chairman of the Committee of Management Eric Ek give his side of the story. Well tonight, again, Magana is firing back. This time with a letter to Ek explaining that he was wrongly and maliciously terminated. First, he says that the decision to terminate him was not unanimous with only four of the six members of the board of management consulted.
He also lectured Eck for his admission that he had not seen Magana’s contract until last week. And as to the terms of reference which Magana allegedly failed to live up to, he reminds Eck that no performance appraisal was ever done. Magana concludes that the real reason for his dismissal is that it was politically expedient after Magana was at the center of the sugar riots in February of this year.
Magana warns that he will be having a press conference to ventilate these and other issues.
