And while Shoman was upset about the President's management of that meeting, she was even more upset that he refused to add her motion to the agenda for the day. As we reported, she forwarded another motion to form a special select committee, but it didn't even make it unto to the agenda for a vote. She explained:

Lisa Shoman - PUP Senator

"It's not on the agenda. It was never allowed on the agenda. It has been prevented from being put on the agenda by the President who is citing a rule which gives him general powers to regulate, but does not specifically give him the right to direct anybody to leave off a motion, when the motion is not the same. So, I will bring my motion back. It has not been put to the floor; it has not been debated. It hasn't been defeated or lost, and I will bring it back."

Jules Vasquez
"It has been defeated."

Lisa Shoman
"No, it hasn't; no Jules, this is the mistake that is being made by the President. It is not the same motion that was put the first time."

Jules Vasquez
"It kind of seems (to be) the same."

Lisa Shoman
"If you read it carefully, you will see that one of them is a general power for inquiry and investigation, and the second one is to specifically question people, ask them questions about what is going on. They are not the same thing, two different powers, and two different sets of people."

The Senate meeting lasted for three hours.
