And our new Prime Minister is not only receiving well wishes from his opposition as you saw earlier. They're also coming in from our allies and neighbors.

The Congratulations came quickly from the United States which today congratulated Briceno and his team on their success in the elections. And in the same note the U.S. The Embassy in Belize claimed to stand ready to work on shared priorities with this new government. They also commended Belize on quote: "Open and free elections that stand as a model for the region." end quote.

But there were more well-wishes this time from or neighbor to the west, Guatemala who through a diplomatic note express congratulations to Prime Minister Briceno and mirrored the U.S's sentiments on the civility of Belize's elections as evidence of a healthy democracy. They also express their own willingness to quote: "continue working closely and positively on the basis of the challenges, challenges, and opportunities of common interest, in the interests of deepening the cooperation, friendship and trust essential to promote the well-being and development of both peoples." End quote.
