And, with that endorsement of a decent pay for a decent politician - though those two things rarely go together in the public mind - Finnegan said that he approves of the job that John Briceno is doing so far:
Jules Vasquez "Early on, what is your assessment of the Briceno administration?"
Michael Finnegan - Former Minister "You see Jules, in fairness to the government, they election was on the 11th of November, we are just a month and a few days, the government is in office, you can't have it like instant coffee, you have to wait before - I think it is unfair right now to make an assessment of the performance of the government."
Jules Vasquez "Mr. Briceno still has not had a national press conference, second, social security, no board has been named, BEL, no board has been named."
Michael Finnegan "It's a matter of style. The former prime minister had a style, the new prime minister now has a style. This situation getting elected to office, under these circumstances, COVID-19, that shake the entire economy of this country, it's a different approach now than what you had maybe 10, 12 years ago."
Jules Vasquez "But sir respectfully you sound like an apologist for the Briceno administration."
Michael Finnegan "I no the take up for nobody, I am trying to be fair. You give me 3 months, a 6 months away from here and you will hear from here."
