In other news, Dolores Balderamos-Garcia, the Minister responsible for Indigenous People's Affairs, met yesterday with representatives of the Toledo Alcaldes Association, the Maya Leaders Alliance, and the Julian Cho Society.
The meeting was held at the invitation of the Minister, as a first step in which she is meeting key partners in the Maya Leadership. She is also attempting to acquaint herself with the complex issues surrounding the 2015 Consent Order of the Caribbean Court of Justice on Maya Customary Land Tenure.
The Government says that there was an agreement on priority actions, and the next steps for a collaborative effort, especially since the next compliance hearing with the CCJ is scheduled for January 21st, 2021.
