The PSU flexed some muscle on Friday sending out two releases to condemn government actions and rhetoric.

The first addressed complaints from former open vote workers regulations, and who have been terminated since the election. The Union has since tasked its Industrial Relations officer to review the legalities of these terminations and to determine whether or not they can be classified as political victimization.

They also urge members to keep a vigilant eye out for such victimization as well as "unwarranted political hiring."

The weekend's second PSU release addressed comments made by the Minister of Infrastructure, development, and housing. Those comments suggested that quote: 'Not a single Public Officer came forward to report the wrongdoings of the former Minister of Works and his CEO over the years that the abuse and fleecing of Government assets persisted under the previous administration." End quote. But the PSU insists it's not so pointing to the Auditor General's report of May 31, 2012, in which she emphasized abuses and corruption then prevalent in the Ministry of works. They also say that the quote: "then paid opposition, now government.", upon reading the report failed to agitate for an audit.

Finally, the PSU called on the Minister to join them in the introduction of a Whistle Blower's Act and the introduction of legislation to protect whistle-blowers and suggested that such an act be tabled at the next sitting of the House of Representatives.
