We also put the question of the old Mirab building to the Prime Minister. He told us that before they take the necessary steps forward, the first thing they have to do is to determine the legitimacy of the contract, and if they are able to back out of it. But he is wary since, as he put it, the UDP was known for their unbreakable contracts.

Hon. Johny Briceno- Prime Minister

"I think that the Public Utilities Commission have sent the information to an attorney to study and I guess that attorney would have to give legal advice on whether there is a contract that is unbreakable. As you know, the previous Government they put that to an art where they give contracts that are unbreakable and if you break the contract you have to be paying people four/five years of their salaries. So, we have to take a good look at that. But certainly it is something that we as a government are very concerned and will take a closer look."
