Briceno also spoke about other cuts - this time in the Grocery Bag program. Last night you heard the Minister of Human Development state plainly that everybody can't get a grocery bag - due to tight government finances.

Today the Prime Minister first deflected blame to the UDP, and then said government is scraping up as much funds as it can to feed the many thousands left in the punishing margins by COVID 19:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"We are doing the very best that we can with what we have. We can't spend what we do not have. What has happened, as you know that the previous government they got loans and they spent everything before the elections. We are doing our best to be able to find money as best as we possibly can. We have identified over 7 million dollars more to finish the financial year and doing everything possible that we can help as many people as possible. We are trying to reduce the waste within the system so that we can give as many people as we possibly can."
