Briceno also made the point that love and support to the current 87 year old Governor General Sir Colville are now of the utmost importance.
And, he provided some clarity on what will happen when Sir Colville Young indicates that he's ready to retire.
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"The Procedure for succession is he would give an indication to us that he's ready to retire to the government and then once he gives that signal that he is ready to retire then, but I'm not fully sure but basically we would have to inform Buckingham palace that the Governor-General is retiring and that a new Governor-General needs to be identified. And then you go through that process and then a new governor general is appointed."

"Is it true that your administration is looking at names already for that replacement?"
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Not at this moment. But we know it is something that's coming. None of us are here forever, so we will have to start to look sooner or later, but that will come with time."
Sir Colville has been Belize's longest serving Governor General - taking office in 1993.
