And while the recommendations from the unions would include plenty of sacrifice from the government, they insist that it's necessary, especially since they have also sacrificed during this pandemic. That's been a sore point ever since PM Briceno suggested that they had not sacrificed like so many others across society because their pay checks remained intact.

And while they have not gotten salary cuts, PSU president Gerald Henry was emphatic when he said that public officers do not stop working.

And, fending off those widespread reservations about a lack of industry in the public sector, Henry says they work hard for what they earn - harder even than some of their bosses:
