And while the UDP isn't talking in public, they are talking in private. 7News has been reliably informed that party leader Patrick Faber is on a kind of truth and reconciliation tour, trying to mend fences with many party personalities who he had written off - reportedly including John Saldivar.
The Chairman says that he kind of had to do this after fewer than 50% of the delegates supported him in a recent recall convention:
Hon. Michael Peyrefitte, Chairman, U.D.P.
"If less than 50% vote for you to remain as the leader, to me if I were him, that would trigger to me a need to assess myself, to talk to people, to get to understand why they don't give you their support and I think even the party leader acknowledges that and since then as I said discussions would take place, talks would occur and those things are happening and its being productive for the party. People sitting in the same room who I didn't think would want to sit in the same room so short after a convention. We have more of these meetings planned."
