And while the Health Minister is resolving that matter with the KHMH, the press wanted to know what is going to happen with Dr. Marvin Manzanero, now that the Government has abolished his post at the Ministry as the Director of Health Services.

We showed you how a raft of 12 bills was passed by both the House and the Senate to replace the DHS office with 2 positions: the Director of Public Health and Wellness, and the Director of Hospital Services.

So, now that those bills are law, where does that leave Dr. Manza, the career public health professional? Here's our conversation with the Minister on that topic from today:

Hon. Michel Chebat - Ministry of Health and Wellness
"That matter is now with the Ministry of the Public Service. You know the laws came into effect on Friday, the 12th of November, and so, that is now with the Ministry of the Public Service, and that matter will be dealt with there."

Reporter
"Did he ever accept any of the posts?"

Hon. Michel Chebat
"No, he never accepted any of the positions."

Reporter
"He said those were never put in writing."

Hon. Michel Chebat
"I did speak to him personally, and I did offer him one of the director positions."

Reporter
"So, what do you expect is going to happen."

Hon. Michel Chebat
"I suspect that he - the position has now become redundant, and so, I suspect that he is going to be offered the benefits of the years of service to the Ministry of Health and Wellness."

Reporter
"In effect, he's pushed out."

Hon. Michel Chebat
"Not really, it's a redundancy. It's common in law."

Dr Manzanero today told us that the last verbal discussion with Minister Chebat was in March, before these new positions were on the table, and that nothing has been presented to him verbally, electronically or in writing about these new positions.
