And while the sugar season seems to be in a costly holding pattern, the Waterloo proposed cruise port may have been halted for good.
On Wednesday we told you that NEAC told the DOE that it did not approve the project, effectively shutting it down.
But the principals of Waterloo Investment Holdings aren't giving up. They believe their project was put through the ringer - and eventually denied - because of their refusal to pass bribes to un-named NEAC members.
It's a serious allegation from an Ashcroft Allied Group, and the chairman - and CEO in the Ministry of Sustainable Development - said they're investigating, but they need proof.
Dr. Kenrick Williams, NEAC Chairman/CEO Min. Suatainable Dev.
"We received some allegations of malfeance against some of the members of NEAC. Thats an ongoing investigation, we have to look into the truth of those claims, because they have implications on public regulatory process. We have to loom into the claims and then take actions based on that. As I indicated they have some implications for the process, so we want to ensure that this public process - the integrity of the process is maintained."

Reporter
"What has been your conversation with the other NEAC members in relation to these allegations being raised?"
Dr. Kenrick Williams
"We've discussed as a matter of importance for the committee, we have high professionals within the public service whose been there for years, so they are concerned as well that this hangs over them. It has to do with the integrity of the process and the integrity of these officers and so they are concerned about it and they've ask us to treat it serious and look into it and thats what we are doing."
Reporter
"What about their acsertains or their demands that the situation is - they want to see all aprovals given to Port Coral, Port of Magical Belize and the other competitors?"
Dr. Kenrick Williams
"This is a public process, they have the right to request those information and there is a process through which they access those information. The process is clear and open, so if it is that information is being requested through the right process, then that information will be available."
