And while the current PM is away in Honduras, machinations to decide on his possible successor are underway within the UDP.

Two days ago area rep for the Albert division, Tracy Taegar Panton declared her intention to vie for the position of UDP party leader. She was followed closely thereafter by Shyne Barrow.

"Well, I think it only adds value because I'm talking about the internal politics for me I think that will be my biggest challenge, that's the greatest challenge but once I pass that challenge, we ought to serve this country for all Belizeans, you know, even though I am a part of a political organization and that was my choice, that was my decision to join the United Democratic Party. When you are the Prime Minister of this country, even if you are the leader of a mass party it is your job to be as inclusive as possible. It is not about one political philosophy when you become the Prime Minister of the country, it is about what is for Belize and so I think I have had work experience, direct work experience with both administrations and I think I can only add value because when you know something when you know something when you know a political system when you know the people, that can only add value to your work."
