On Friday we told you about the spat within the UDP - where some members were falsely accusing their new party leader, Shyne Barrow of trying to mortgage the party headquarters to raise funds.
In our story, we reported on the rumor that he went to Heritage Bank to make inquiries and that's when word got out. Tonight we want to clarify and stress that that rumor has no credence - there is no mortgage and Barrow did not go to Heritage Bank to make any such inquiries.
Shyne Barrow has told his party in an internal message, quote, "It is standard best practice for an evaluation of Party assets and liabilities to be undertaken whenever a new Party Leader is elected.
Any speculation otherwise is without merit."
