We did also ask Peyrefitte about another live conflict - this one in his own party.
Delroy Cuthkelvin has been expelled from the UDP - but he hasn't stopped dropping bombs on his former party colleagues. In fact, his latest ad targets Chairman Peyrefitte.
Yesterday - speaking of the nugatory effect of casting out Cuthkelvin - Peyrefitte said, as far as he is concerned, let it be:
Jules Vasquez
"Its been one week now since the UDP expelled Delroy Cuthkelvin, but its problems of infighting and the air war as they call it, the ad campaign on TV continues."
Mike Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman

"The ads continues. It's a free country. You can bring out ads all you want, but the PUP can't use that. Let people say what they have to say as long as it's not libellous and quite frankly I go as far as to say I don't think Delroy believes what he is saying. I mean he is doing a job. It's sad for me because I know as intelligent as he is, I know he has to know that he is a pawn in somebody else's game."
Jules Vasquez
"But strategically it has no effect going through all the trouble of going to the extraordinary measure of expelling someone for a year. I'm saying that if the ads will continue anyway, it was better you have left it so."
Mike Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman
"That would have been my personal. My personal position is so what."
