The press also asked the Blue Economy CEO about Vulcan Materials Company.

Last week, a representative of the US's largest producer of construction aggregates spoke to 7News. She said that even though Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde disagrees with their plan to conduct quarrying on the White Ridge Farm property near tiny Gales Point, Manatee, they would still want to have a conversation.

The media asked about that, and here's what the CEO had to say:

Reporter
"This interest Vulcan mining down south, at least that aspect of the conveyor bridge to take out the material and barges. Is that something that's on the radar for your ministry?"

Kennedy Carrillo - CEO, Ministry of the Blue Economy
"Well, definitely, we know that that will really not go anywhere. What they have been proposing has pretty much been squashed - has been blocked. So that's not going to happen. So, we don't need to discuss Vulcan."

The CEO also clarified that there is nothing wrong with a sit-down conversation with the company, but in her view, the government may not change its position on this proposed project.
