And from police corruption to political infighting….Compol Chester has found himself in the middle of an all UDP beef.
This weekend, the anti-Patrick Faber faction in the UDP released an ad on WhatsApp showing Faber captured on camera in another domestic dispute who a female partner. In the footage he is seen head butting her as they tussle for control of a vehicle key - and a child is seen on the edge of the frame.
It's ugly stuff and part of a pattern of behavior - but he is an elected official and subject to a higher level of public scrutiny - so we must bring the footage to the fore - even if it does come out of a truly disgusting political ad.
Compol Chester Williams found himself caught up in this intra-UDP mess because in one of the ads - it has his voice - taken out of context from an interview on domestic abuse - and he is made to seem to be narrating the ad. We asked him about it today:

"The comments or the voice in the ad is certainly mine and that was in respect to an interview I had give couple months ago speaking generally about domestic violence and I still maintain position I vehemently oppose domestic violence and I would never support a person stands for domestic violence. I would want to think that the ad was produced by someone within the UDP, as a part of the UDP ongoing battle among themselves and I wanted to be known clear that I have nothing to do with the ad and I disassociate myself from it completely for I have not authorized anybody to use my voice in order for them to achieve their own political objective. While I oppose certain things that Mr. Faber had done or allegedly done in the past, I would never resort to creating such and there is a particular UDP operative who had claimed that the ad was produced by me with Jules supervision. I don't know how he arrive at that conclusion, but certainly it's ridiculous and I condemn it to its fullest and would hope that the person who produces it and intends to use it, so not do so, because if it is used, I will take action whoever use it, because I do not authorize my voice to be used in such a way."
