And, while Saldivar made no beef with his leader, he stressed again that the United States did not indicate that any action would follow to try and seize his assets. And he says that's because he doesn't really have any to speak of:

John Saldivar, Rejects US Designation
"Noteworthy from the debriefing in Washington when questioned by a reporter as to whether this designation brings with any financial sanctions. The answer was no, and obviously the answer had to be no because I'm sure the United States' state department had to realize if they haven't before, that I have no financial assets that they can sanction me over. Which of course begs the question if I have been involved in such significant corruption in my Country and in Government while I was there. I have to wonder where is the evidence of that and where is the lifestyle to be living given that I am supposedly 'significantly corrupt'."

The press conference lasted an hour - and if you want to see the entire thing it was streamed on our Facebook page.

Notably, Saldivar said he had an attorney writing letters to the US and Belize Governments on his behalf, but did not name that attorney when we asked.
