But, for Saldivar and the UDP, the more immediate issue is his candidacy in an upcoming convention to be the party's candidate in Belmopan.
As we have reported, leader Shyne Barrow has set up a Special Committee of 7 persons to consider his continued candidacy - with Barrow making heavy allusions to the political dimensions of this corruption designation.
But, as ever, Saldivar is undeterred - he's dug in as a politician and instead of going to ground, he's hit the ground, in a frenzy of campaigning.
He says he will appear before the special committee and then run in a convention where he expects to be vindicated:
