And we turn back now to the biggest political event of the year so far: that's the UDP's Standard Bearer Convention on Monday in Belmopan. As our story showed, the falllout for UDP Leader Shyne Barrow is enormous - as Saldivar emerged victorious against his pleas to the UDP's of Belmopan.

And that's why when Saldivar won, the members of the Caucus for Change felt they were also vindicated for supporting him - against the wishes of their party leader.

But it is that same caucus that got Shyne Barrow elected as party leader by a narrow margin in March of 2022. So if the caucus made him, can it also break him? It probably can, and no less than Shyne's aunt by marriage, Diane Finnegan cautioned him about those people you meet on your way up - who are also going to be there on your way down:

Diane Finnegan, Caucus for Change

"The thing is that when you are not grateful about where you're at, when you are not humble about who brought you into where you're seated now and when at the end of the day, you're not grateful and you don't recognize where your victory came from - well you got to pay the price for that. You understand."
