And as Barrow said, their focus will now be holding the PUP government's feet to the fire. And today he came out swinging when we asked him his thoughts on the edible outrage. He called on the Ministry of Education to do more to protect the students, but also criticized the way the ComPol has been handling the matter.
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I, along with the opposition, we call on the ministry of education to do more to put in place measures where this could never be repeated. They definitely need to analyse and scrutinize to see what breaches took place so that that would never happen again. But it all leads back to the police department. So here you have a shipment of narcotics that was sent to a police officer Gamboa, and then, I understand it was thrown away and then somebody took it and then sold it, not knowing what they were selling. It really is a travesty and the interconnection is what is even more tragic. So I really do hope that the Ministry of Education will do more to make sure that measures are put in place so that this could never happen again."

"There are many in the public were saying that they don't believe the ComPol in him saying that the media foiled their investigation into sting operation into Gamboa."

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"If it wasn't for Jules Vasquez and the other media houses we would have never known that Gamboa Junior was the one that was busted with the candy-laced..."

"It was in his name, he didn't go for it, it was in his name."
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"Right, we would have never known that."
Reporter
"Do you believe the police did indeed were planning to have a sting operation?"
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"Listen, I am with the public. I don't believe anything that the ComPol says anymore. I believe he has exhausted his time. It's time for him to go. He has no credibility. It is time for him to transition into police and see if he will have any success there, because he has caulked out. It is clear that he has checked out and he is not there and all he does is make excuses. All he does is deflect. It is comedic, but disheartened at the same time when the media questions him, when the media demands transparency. He will say oh well let Jules Vasquez become the ComPol. Making a mockery of the legitimate role that the media and the opposition and the stakeholders have, which is to ask the difficult questions and to seek the answers."
