The Supremacy of God, it's declared boldly in the Preamble to Belize's Constitution, but should it be?
Leaked information from the People's Constitutional Commission is that there has been discussion and debate over that very question.
That information obtained by Channel 7 was then put to the Leader of the Opposition in an interview and later by another media house to the Minister Of religious Affairs Henry Charles Usher.
It's a sequence of events that the LGBTQ rep on the PCC has called mischief, and discussions that seek to distract from the work of the PCC.
We caught up with him today to get his overall perspective on the issue and whether he thinks raising the removal of the Supremacy Of God is just an academic exercise. Here's that exchange:
