But the ComPol has joked - or at least, he claims it's a joke - that he plans to eventually run in Mesopotamia. So today the media asked him if he's on the campaign trail, and whether he's only in the area to further antagonize the area rep.

"But are you trying to antagonize Shyne, especially, yesterday I think he doesn't take you seriously as a political opponent."

"This is not about politics for me, I am simply here trying to do my job as a police, as a commissioner of police, to give the public the assurance that as a department, we will do what we can to make them safe. And I think that Shyne would be happy that the police is in his area and making sure that his constituents are okay, and that's what I'm doing today."
