Jerry Enriquez made a complaint of judicial bias against Justice Tawanda Hondora in April - and has still not gotten a reply from the Judicial and Legal Service Commission lost four months later. That's why yesterday he wrote again to the Chief Justice saying, quote, "I hereby express my deep and abiding concern and disappointment regarding the Commission's continued inaction in making a decision on my complaint....no decision has been communicated to me regarding the same. I believe this is unsatisfactory and unacceptable.
It is a matter of basic common sense, if not an elementary constitutional principle, that a complaint of judicial misconduct must be expeditiously addressed and resolved. Failing to do so has obvious adverse implications for the integrity of the administration of justice." end quote.
We are told the matter is before the JLSC but Enriquez says he has not been informed about the intention, timeline and process for resolving it. Quote, "There has been an ongoing, disturbing, and frustrating silence."
