New City Admin is Former Councillor

The new City Administrator has been named - and just as we told you it would be weeks ago - that name is Dr Candice Pitts. She's just back from Taiwan where she had been ambassador for 5 years, and is rumored to have been the politically favored choice of the PUP bigwigs in Belize City. But, not so, says the council which issued a release today stating, quote, "This decision follows the recommendations of the interview committee, recognizing Dr. Pitts' proven record of leadership and public service."

Pitts will be replacing her politically favored predecessor, Albert Vaughn who served as the City admin for only 14 months.

Like him, she previously served as a PUP Belize City Councillor.
