As you saw, union leaders were out there today. Now, they didn't push it as hard as the opposition did - but their presence was surely a political amber alert for the Briceno administration - which could be entering perilous political waters.
The BNTU president said they are seeking a membership mandate tonight:

"Tonight we consult with our wider membership because what we do first is we educate our membership and then we provide them with a poll for them to vote and it is from there we will know now if the BNTU will be participating fully. Because when it comes to industrial action the membership must give us the mandate."
