But as you heard, Senator Dennison rejects the claim that he is receiving those fees for his services. So why is he out there with the BCWJ for every protest? And what ramifications does it have on his career?
Well, he says its simple: he's there to fight for his father, who was a former BTL employee.
Here's what he told us today.
Glenfield Dennison, Union Senator
"My dad worked at BTL for over 10 years. He passed away in 2014. My dad was the grunt worker for BTL, he was a linesman, an assistant linesman was the post. My dad used to climb lamppost, that's what fed me, that's what sent me to school, that's what educated me, in fact I won a Digi scholarship for high school so this is for the love of a son to his father. I don't know that you need more motivation than that. But I will say this, Emily and I strategized very clearly about the implications this could have on my job and Emily is here to tell you that I resolve to tell her this, Emily if they fire me over this, it is a worthy cause."
