Belize Shoots Up 76 Spots in FIFA Ranking

A week ago Belize shelled St. Kitts 3-1 in the first round of the 2010 World Cup qualifying matches. It was a home game played at the Mateo Flores Stadium in Guatemala City. That’s hostile territory for Belize but our national football team won and today they were rewarded. The Football Federation of Belize today announced that the win earned Belize 64 points on their international ranking, causing it to shoot from 201st place to 176th on the World FIFA ranking. Belize will play the return match against St. Kitts in St. Kitts on March 26th.
